This course is conducted primarily in the field, surrounded by our study subject. It is especially designed to give environmental studies majors and other non-science majors familiarity with the local biological environment and the skills and knowledge needed to be be a natural historial anywhere in the world.
Most weeks (cold weather or warm) we will leave for lab at 11am and return to campus at 4pm. We will travel to places in and around Walla Walla County. When in the field we will focus on identifying plants and animals, examining their distribution on the landscape, and applying this information to interpret ecological processes.
