When I'm not teaching, writing or messing in my lab, I like to get outside. I enjoy climbing - rock, ice, snow, mountains, chosspiles up towards Bluewood, cracks, faces and the occasional off-width. I also like to ski and snowboard - especially backcountry tele skiing in the dry powder we get here in eastern washington/oregon, mountain bike - especially in concert with fly fishing (a new-found pastime), road bike, run, play ultimate frisbee. In the relatively near future, I hope to try surfing, kiteboarding and mountain bike polo(!).
Here are some photos from a trip to Zion over spring break 2003.
If you're interested in climbing within a day of walla walla, check out Kevin Pogue's climbing pages. He also has good info for mountain biking.
